How did your Friday set go?
We played a set at 1.30pm on Friday, at Bar Vinyl. It went really well! Hadouken played there afterwards.
Did you get to see any other bands?
We tried to be about and watch some bands, but we couldn’t. We literally died. We were waiting to see Does It Offend You, Yeah, and we were on the bus. We sat around, and as time progressed we got more and more tired, and more and more ill. We played our hometown of Preston the night before, and it was a bit of a heavy night! We set off for London at 6am. We slept the whole four hours as we were so tired! As soon as it was time for the gig we were okay, but afterwards…
Have you played Camden venues before?
We played the Roundhouse with Supergrass - that was a beautiful evening.
What’s your favourite Camden memory?
We saw Gary Barlow once! Not live, I’d like to add. We were watching Little Fish at the Dublin Castle, and Gary Barlow was there! It was amazing.
Interview: Noah & The Whale

This morning (Saturday)’s acoustic session saw you gain an eighth member in the form of a very confused security guard - what did you think of your new bandmate?
Charlie: That was a nice little cameo, and he milked it!
Urby: We’ve had quite a few gigs where security guards have walked in - it’s really weird.
Tom: It’s happened once before!
Urby: Yeah, but I wouldn’t have thought it would happen more than once to any band! It happens once and it’s a weird thing. I don’t know if it was thesame guy! Security guards have clearly got very little time - they don’twait for anything. He couldn’t wait until the end of the song, as he seemedto be under immense pressure to get back to guarding whatever they’resecuring!
How did Friday night’s set go?
All: Amazing.
Charlie: One of our best gigs ever. Everyone was just going mad, and werocked it pretty hard!
Urby: The sound was amazing, we had the horn section, and we were playing with Becca from Slow Club.
Charlie: I think the Freedm studio at the Roundhouse is probably myfavourite venue in London. It’s so good to play.
Urby: I thought they’d have the seats for our show, but they didn’t. Thewhole room was standing and the place went mental.
Do you have any favourite Camden memories?
Urby: The first time I came here and I came with a mate, who said it was areally cool place to go - we were 14. He got mugged in front of me.
Charlie: Well I came to Camden and had a lovely time! [laughs]
Have you managed to catch any other bands while you’ve been here?
Charlie: We saw Slow Club on Friday, who were incredible, as always.
Tom: I saw Post War Years, who rocked the place. My ears hurt a little bit afterwards!
Interview: Make Model

How did your Friday night set go?
We did a gig in London on Tuesday, but this one at Dingwalls last night was way better. We’ve only got to the point now where coming to London isn’t as scary as it used to be. When you’re a new band, all the London gigs consist of press and management that you have to impress, so it’s never as good as it is anywhere else. We now feel like we’ve become ourselves in London. Last night was one of the best gigs we’ve ever done.
Have you played Camden venues before?
We’ve played Barfly a couple of times. We’ve played Koko before, and I always feel really lucky that we get to play somewhere like that.
What are your favourite Camden memories?
I came to see Tortoise at Koko when I was younger, I think to be honest that’s my favourite Camden memory as they’re a band I really love. My first time in Camden… walking up that high street. It’s quite cool - I was walking round the other day actually, and remembering those days. It’s like an extended version of all those bits of cities, you know? Everywhere’s got a bit like Camden, but in Camden it’s all there. I used to look up the canal, and think that looks really cool, and now we’re here!
Who are you planning on seeing while you’re here?
I tend to be really bad when I go to festivals for seeing other bands. At SXSW I saw no-one! I feel really bad about it! Everyone I wanted to see last night was on the same time as us. I hope to see Crystal Castles. I’m going to use this as an excuse to find out about new stuff - I’m going to try and be surprised.
